Become a mental health hero!
If you find media coverage that stigmatises mental health or irresponsibly reports suicide, you can report the item to StigmaWatch. StigmaWatch is a program run through SANE, who provide feedback and work with the media, across Australia, on how to responsibly report stories about mental ill health and suicide. Stigma can create barriers for those with mental health issues with choosing to access supports, sharing their story with others and low self-esteem by feeling judged or “abnormal”.For more information watch the following video and visit https://www.sane.org/services/stigmawatch
We have free and confidential support at Student Wellbeing too. Call 9564 1649 or email studentwellbeing@holmesglen.edu.au to make an appointment with a Counsellor today.
