Tourism Series part 2
 

A series of events and workshops, designed to prepare Holmesglen travel and tourism students for industry. Develop skills to be job ready, enhance and increase your professional network and develop your personal and professional skills.

Introducing our two guest speakers who will be covering how LinkedIn can be your best friend during a time where networking needs to be virtual and what you can do now to increase your job prospects down the line. 

Vincent Ramos

With over 15 years experience, Vincent has worked for a number of leading institutions in Australia and the United States in philanthropy and alumni relations, communications and social media, leadership programs and international education. As the Director of Advancement at the Holmesglen Foundation, Vincent networks for a profession and is an avid LinkedIn user, ready to share is knowledge and wisdom.

Amanda Whittenbury 

Amanda is a highly experienced recruitment professional with years of retail experience. Currently, Amanda leads Holmesglen's Skills & Jobs Centre, supporting students and members of the community with resume development, interview techniques and general career development and job preparation skills. Amanda is keen to share her knowledge on how our Tourism students can prepare themselves for a busy job market and what transferable skills our Tourism students can lean into whilst the tourism industry has stopped.

Sarah Gillies 

Pursuing her dream of working in the travel industry, Sarah began her Holmesglen studies with the VET delivered to Secondary School Students SIT30114 Certificate III in Travel while at Waverley Christian College. 

After finishing VCE, Sarah completed the SIT50116 Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management/Diploma of Holiday Parks and Resort Management SIT 50216. 

Upon graduating, Sarah tool time off to travel and in 2018 she commenced work with Helloworld Travel. Her position as travel agent has allowed her to visit Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, China Canada, France, England, Scotland, Wales, Fiji and the Solomon Islands.
