True Belonging does not require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are.  The greatest barrier to true belonging is fitting in or changing who we are so we can be accepted .  (Brown, 2018).

New BHM students come with diverse backgrounds and skills.  For some it is the first time away from home and their social support networks.

They may have feelings of Belonging Uncertainty such as; they may wonder what others think of them, will they be able to do the work, if they are the only ones struggling.  It is also possible that new students who may be timid about approaching academic staff may be less fearful of exposing their issues in settling in to peers.

This Project offers stage 5 leadership students an authentic leadership experience and offers a bridge between new and final year students.
