Setting up your phone

Before you set up your phone or your sim card, it's always best to research which service provider you would like to choose. There are various plans and options available.

would recommend you search several service providers and see the plans they offer. At this point you can choose the plan that suits you.

There are a range of plans or contracts under a post-paid arrangement which means you receive a bill at the end of each month that informs you of how much of a service you have used.

There are also pre-paid options where you own your phone and pay in advance for 'credit' which allows you to use the provider's services i.e. make calls, send messages, use data.

It's important to note you do not need credit on your phone to call emergency numbers like Triple Zero (000). Read more about Australia's emergency services here.
