Meals on Wheels 

 

Volunteer Position

Hours: 2 hours, weekly or fortnightly on weekdays.

Location: Canterbury, Kew VIC

 

Position Description of Vacancy:

- Must undergo Police Check (Completed by BASScare).
- Must have proof of three COVID-19 Vaccinations. 
- Flu vaccination is highly recommended. 
- Full induction included as well as ongoing support provided by BASScare staff. 
- Make a difference in your local community via delivering meals on wheels. In addition to delivering a nutritious meal, volunteers can have a friendly chat to clients helping to reduce isolation and support older members of the community stay independent in their own home. 
- You will need to own your own fully insured vehicle, and be available 11.00am on weekdays for approximately 2hrs a shift (weekly, fortnightly or on an emergency basis).
- Use of own fully insured vehicle with sufficient space for two medium sized eskies. 
- Must have a friendly nature, happy to engage in conversation and provide feedback on clients' wellbeing.
- Must be adaptable to change (deliveries currently contactless). 
- Willingness to complete a free online food safety training course.
- Support available via the Meals Office during deliveries.
