A Diploma of Nursing student representative role is a rewarding opportunity that can provide learners with a competitive edge when entering the workforce.  These five (5) steps outline how to apply for the role:

 

Step 1. Discover

Before applying, you are encouraged to read The roles and responsibilities of a Diploma of Nursing Student RepresentativeThis will provide you will an overview of the skills and qualities required to fulfil the role, along with the benefits such a role can provide.

 

Step 2.  Receive a Nomination

Before applying, you are required to be nominated.  Nominations can be made by Holmesglen Diploma of Nursing students or staff members and are included in your application.  Holmesglen will verify your nomination directly with the nominator.

 

Step 3.  Apply

To apply for the role, you will be required to complete the Diploma of Nursing Student Representative Application Form.  Applications can be submitted to ADD e-mail, by no later than ADD DATE.

 

Step 4. Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.  If invited to an interview you will be asked questions based on your written application, communication and to demonstrate your suitability for the role.

 

Step 5. Train for the role

Applicants will attend an initial training session prior to being appointed to the Diploma of Nursing Student Representative Council.  This training session is the beginning of the ongoing training and support that student representatives receive throughout their term.  Student representatives will be awarded with a certificate of participation acknowledging their skills in advocacy, representation, working with diverse stakeholders, communication and more at the end of their term.
