Holmesglen today announced Chiau Lin Lau, CA, CFA as the inaugural Chair of the Student Representative Council.
Chiau Lin is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne. Chiau Lin has extensive experience in Investment Management and Banking. Her passion for the property industry was the catalyst for her undertaking a Diploma of Building and Construction at Holmesglen. Chiau Lin is multilingual and is fluent in Mandarin.
“I am honored to assume the role as Chair of the Student Representative Council, representing the voice of all learners. I look forward to applying my experience in the service of the Council and students.” Chiau Lin.
Established in September 2020, the Student Representative Council is an independent not-for-profit organisation governed by students, for students. The Council is committed to advocating for student life and experiences.
“Amid a global pandemic, it is imperative that the Council steps up to serve our student body. I look forward to working with all stakeholders in creating a transparent and functioning Council with a framework that allows the Council to address key challenges in the current market. We would like to introduce the Student Representative Council’s Vision, Mission and Values.”
To enhance the Holmesglen Experience and advocate the interest of past, current and prospective students.
1. To gather the collective student voice concerning academic and student life.
2. Accurately and respectfully represent the views and opinions of the student body.
3. Act as a communication channel between the Institute and Holmesglen learners.
4. Continuously improve the student learning experience in partnership with Holmesglen by helping form solutions to identified problems.
