It’s National Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June).

At the Glen Waverley library we have enjoyed the wonderful sound of didgeridoos coming from our training room as students delivered their cultural presentations for the Cert III Conservation and Ecosystem Management for First Nations/Traditional Owners. This unique indigenous land management course is run in partnership with Trust for Nature and is the only course of its type in Australia. Here’s a video explaining the course. Students brought in culturally significant items such as didgeridoos, stones and soil, and even a whalebone to help them share cultural knowledge and understanding with their audience.
