Maranoa House - Outing Support
Volunteer Position - Lunch provided
Hours: 7 hours (flexible), weekly or fortnightly on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.
Location: Canterbury, VIC
Position Description of Vacancy:
- Must undergo Police Check (Completed by BASScare).
- Must have proof of three COVID-19 Vaccinations.
- Flu vaccination is highly recommended.
- Full induction included as well as ongoing support provided by BASScare staff.
- Assist clients with dementia and memory loss enjoy bus outings, socialisation and in-house activities.
- Volunteers will support staff welcoming clients to the day program, engage with clients in conversation throughout the day, assist staff in escorting clients on and off s small coaster bus and make a valuable contribution helping provide support whilst engaging and contributing towards enjoyable outing activities for all.
- The adult dementia program focuses on socialisation.
- Seeking people with empathy, understanding and patience.
- Some experience with aged care would be beneficial.
