Garden Educator
Salary/Benefits: Negotiable, based on Child Services Award.
Hours: 12-15 hours per week over 2-3 days, negotiable.
Location: Tarneit, VIC
Position Description of Vacancy:
- Must have Horticultural qualification or be currently studying Horticulture.
- Teaching experience would be an advantage.
- Permanent part time
- Driver's License and vehicle would be an advantage.
- Must have Working with Children's Check.
- Duties include running a gardening and sustainability program for preschool aged children in a childcare centre.
- Growing mostly edible plants but also includes ornamentals.
- The age range of children is from 0-6 years old.
- The program also extends to art, cooking and science activities.
- Other duties include maintaining indoor plants and a small amount of garden maintenance.
- Horticultural knowledge is a must and teaching experience is an advantage.
